China's consumption growth picked up significantly in September as the Covid-19 resurgence in the country's eastern regions eased.

Retail sales, a key measure of consumer spending in the world’s most second largest economy, grew by 4.4 per cent in September, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Monday. Retail sales excluding automobiles grew by 6.4 per cent.
