Chinese local governments' bond issuance hit a new record high in June after the top authority called for faster issuance to boost investment and support the slowing economy.

Local governments issued a total of 1.76 trillion yuan of bonds in the first 22 days of June, making the highest monthly on record, surpassing the previous record set in May 2020, according to data compiled by Wind Information.
