China sees cross-border passenger trips hit highest since pandemic started

China recorded 676,000 cross-border passenger trips on Feb 6, the highest daily figure since the start of the pandemic, rising by 32.8% from a year earlier and representing about 36.6% of the pre-pandemic level, according to data released by the National Immigration Administration. 

The number of passenger traffic crossing the border with Hong Kong and Macau reached 568,000 on the day, accounting for 84% of the total and rising by 39.2% from the previous day, it said.
