China’s electricity generation grew at slower pace in Jun

China’s electricity generation reached reached 739.9 billion kWh, rising by 2.8% from a year earlier, slowing from the 5.6% growth in the previous month, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.

In breakdown, coal-fired power generation rose 14.2% year over year in June, hydro power generation tumbled 33.9%, wind power generation fell 1.8%, nuclear power generation rose 13.8% and solar power generation rose 8.8%, showed the data.

For the first half of the year, electricity consumption reached 4.17 trillion kWh, rising by 3.8% from a year earlier, according to the data.

In breakdown, coal-fired power generation rose 7.5% in the first half, hydro power generation slid 22.9%, nuclear generation rose 6.5%, and wind power generation rose 16%, showed the data.
