Apple supplier Sunny Optical’s shipments of handset lens sets rose 17% on year in Aug, up 13.2% on month

Apple supplier Sunny Optical said that its shipment volume of handset lens sets reached 108 million units in August, rising 17% from a year earlier and up 13.2% from the previous month.

Shipment volume of vehicle lens sets rose 14.8% year over year to 8.089 million units, mainly due to the increased demand from the vehicle camera market with the relief of the key components shortage in the auto supply chain.

Handset camera module shipments reached 52.96 million units, falling 2.9% from the previous month, but surging 36.8% from a year earlier due to low base last year amid the overall weakness of the smartphone market.
