Baidu released upgraded Ernie Bot 3.5 with plugins

Baidu’s chatbot Ernie Bot 3.5 has been upgraded in terms of both technology and engineering, with upgrades in its creative, question-answering, reasoning, and coding abilities as well as improvement in security, training and reasoning speed, said Baidu’s chief technology officer Wang Haifeng. 

Training speed of Ernie Bot 3.5 has increased by two times compared to Ernie 3, and the reasoning speed has increased by 17 times, and in terms of functionality, the biggest change is the addition of a plug-in mechanism, he said.

Baidu’s search engine equips Ernie Bot with the ability to generate real-time and precise information, and the ChatFile plugin enables long text summary and Q&A, the company said.
