Berkshire Hathaway sold BYD shares for third time since August

Legendary US investor Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway sold 3.297 million H-shares of BYD Company at price of HK$169.8657 on November 1, reducing its stake in the electric vehicle maker to 17.92% from 18.22%, according to a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

This is the third time the investor has cut its holdings in BYD, after it sold the stock once in August and once in September.

On August 24, Berkshire sold 1.33 million shares of BYD traded in Hong Kong, bringing its stake down from 20.04% to 19.92%, the first reduction since Buffett bought BYD shares more than ten years earlier. On September 1, its cut shareholdings of 1.716 million H-shares of BYD, bringing its stake to 18.87%.
