BYD electric cars to enter Denmark market, first store to open in Copenhagen in autumn

BYD Company has appointed Nic Christiansen Group as its distributor for its electric passenger cars in Denmark, BYD said in a statement.

Nic Christiansen will provide distribution, sales and service support as well online resources for BYD passenger car customers in Denmark, BYD said.

The first pioneering BYD store will open in Copenhagen this autumn, where customers will be able to experience and test drive BYD models, and a website for the Danish market will be launched in late August, it said.

Last month, BYD announced its official entry into the Japanese passenger car market with the unveiling of the BYD Seal, Dolphin, and the Atto 3, known as the Yuan Plus in China.

It also launched Yuan Plus in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica.

Earlier in August, BYD had announced a partnership with European dealer group Hedin Mobility to provide NEV offerings for the Swedish and German markets, with the first vehicles expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter. BYD alos announced its plans to enter Israel and appointed Shlomo Motors as its local dealer. On August 8, BYD announced its entry into Thailand and on August 13, BYD and Huan Ya He Zhong (Cambodia) Trading Co Ltd held a launch event for the Atto 3 in Cambodia.
