Carlyle Group and Trustar Capital are seeking to sell part of their stakes in the mainland China and Hong Kong operations of McDonald’s for $4 billion, reported Bloomberg News.

The deal would transfer the partial stakes held by Carlyle Group and Trustar Capital to a new investment vehicle, which should help attract new capital to drive business growth, while also allowing existing limited partners the option to cash out on some of their stakes, it said.
