Cathay Pacific Airways jumped as much as 4.7% to hit HK$8.1 at one point, a new high in more than five months.

Cathay Pacific CEO Ronald Lam said an internal letter on Monday that the recruitment of cabin crew in mainland China will kick off in July, and the airlines will strengthen the training of service culture, expand service in Mandarin, and start Mandarin cabin announcement on flights to and from mainland China in August.

In addition, Cathay Pacific cabin crew name tags will clearly display the languages in which they can provide services, including Mandarin and other Asian regional languages, and cabin crew members who can speak more than one Asian regional language will receive a new monthly allowance, he said.

BofA Securities raised the target price for Cathay Pacific to HK$10 from previous HK$6.6, raising the rating to Buy from Underperform, saying the carrier will benefit from the reopening after the pandemic.
