China orders ride-hailing giant Didi’s app removed from app stores

China's internet watchdog ordered the ride-hailing giant Didi Global Inc.'s smartphone app Didi Chuxing to be removed from all app stores in the country, dealing a second blow to the ride-hailing giant less than a week after its US stock market debut.

The Cyberspace Administration of China, citing serious problems involving illegal collection and use of personal data, also instructed Didi Chuxing to correct the issues to “ensure the safety of the personal information of users.”
