Chinese regulator is pushing forward the revision of the “Anti-Unfair Competition Law ” after revising the “Anti-Monopoly Law” last year, said Luo Wen, Head of the State Administration for Market Regulation, at a press conference on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the regulator is also improving regulations and guidelines on the Standard for Declaration of Concentration of Business Operators, striving to make regulatory rules and enforcement procedures more clear, so that all kinds of enterprises can compete fairly and improve together, he said.

Luo noted that the focus this year will be on continuously optimizing the market environment for fair competition.

“To improve the normalized supervision, we need to strengthen the evaluation of market competition in key areas such as the digital economy and the areas for people’s livelihoods. We need to strengthen preventive supervision, especially by comprehensively using administrative guidance, interviews, penalties and other means to help companies improve their compliance management level, rectify illegal competition behaviors in a timely way, and strictly regulate fair and civilized law enforcement.”
