China, Russia pledge to strengthen economic ties, to establish soybean industry alliance

China and Russia have pledged to deepen economic cooperations, including establishing a soybean industry alliance, amid Beijing’s long-running tensions with Washington.

Chinese Commerce Minister Zhong Shan and Russia's Economic Development Minister held talks at a video conference on Tuesday, according to a statement released by China's Ministry of Commerce.

The two countries would deepen cooperation in anti-epidemic campaign and in the efforts to push for business resumption in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the ministry said.
