China will block beef imports from a second US firm after a shipment was detected to contain ractopamine, a banned feed additive, Chinese customs authority said on Thursday.

Starting Thursday, it will suspend the declaration of meat products shipped by US-based firm King Meat Service Inc, as ractopamine has been detected in its beef exported to China, the customs administration said. GAC said it has informed the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

China has halted beef imports from another US producer AA Meat Products in June. For the same reason, the customs said that it has suspended beef imports since June 15, according to a separate statement on July 26.
