China will encourage artificial intelligence (AI)’s application in key industries including manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, financial services, commercial and home decoration and promote high-end and high-efficient development of the smart economy, according to a guideline on accelerating high-level AI application to boost high-quality economic development released by six government departments including the Ministry of Technology.
The manufacturing industry will prioritize exploring smart scenarios including industrial brain, robotic assistants for manufacturing, robot visual industrial inspection and equipment interconnection management, according to the guideline.
The agriculture sector will prioritize exploring self-driving of farming equipments with satellite navigation, agricultural geopolitical information search engine, online hailing of far machines, smart farms, digitalized management of supply chain, plant protection by drones and quality inspection and controls of agricultural products, according to the guideline.
In the logistics industry, companies will explore robotic sorting and moving, smart storage and tracking terminal, etc, it said.
