China to seek breakthroughs in exploration, production of critical minerals – minister

China’s Ministry of Natural Resources will focus on the national strategic needs and seek breakthroughs in critical mineral exploration and production capacity expansion, said the Minister Wang Guanghua at a mining industry conference. 

In the next five years, the ministry will focus on implementing another round of strategic actions for breakthroughs in expanding production capacity of critical minerals, and bolstering mineral resources reserves, he said.
