China to step up efforts to develop agriculture, promote domestic seeds to strengthen food security

China will continued to make the development of the agriculture industry and rural areas its top priority this year and step up support for its domestic seed industry in a move to strengthen food security after the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), the Communist Party of China will regard work concerning agriculture, rural areas and farmers as its top priority, according to the No. 1 document, the annual rural policy blueprint published by the State Council, China's cabinet.
