Trade between the US and Chia continues to tumble, with bilateral trade during the first eight months amounting to 3.05 trillion yuan, sliding 8.7% from a year earlier, according to China’s customs data.

Exports of Chinese goods to the US reached 2.27 trillion yuan during the 8-month period, marking a decline of 11.7% year over year, while imports reached 775.26 billion yuan, showing a growth of 1.6%, leaving China’s trade surplus with the US at 1.5 trillion yuan, narrowing by 17.4% from a year earlier.

In August alone, the bilateral trade stood at $57 billion dollars, rising by less than 4% from the previous month.
