China’s 10-year government bond yield hit 18-year low, expected to fall below 2.4%

After US Treasury yields hit record lows amid investors' flight to safety and expectation of more monetary easing, China's 10-year government bond yield hit a new low in nearly 18 years.

Analyst say the yield is expected to trend lower and many of them believe it will break through 2.4 per cent by the end of June.

The 10-year government bond yield in China's interbank market slumped by 10 basis points on Monday shortly after market open to hit 2.51 per cent, the lowest level in nearly 18 years . . .
