China’s coal imports in Jul rose 67% on year, slightly lower than Jun – customs data

China’s coal imports reached 39.26 million tonnes in July, slightly below the 39.87 million tonnes in June and compared with average monthly amounts of 37 million metric tons between January and June, according to China’s customs data.

July’s coal imports soared 67% from 23.52 million tonnes a year earlier. China’s monthly coal import record was 43.56 million metric tons in January 2020.

Coal imports in the first seven months of the year reached 261 million tonnes, surging 88.6% from a year ago, showed customs data.
