China’s Jul crude oil imports hit lowest since Jan, rose 17% on year

China’s crude oil imports reached 43.69 million tonnes in July, or 10.29 million barrels per day (bpd), marking the lowest daily rate since January, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs. 

That’s 18.8% lower than the 12.67 million bpd in June, which was the second-highest on record, and 17% higher than the 8.79 million bpd a year earlier, showed the data.

Chinas’s refined fuel exports rose 55.8% in July from a year earlier to 5.31 million tonnes, up from the the 4.51 million metric tons in the previous month, showed the data. 

China imported 10.31 million metric tons of natural gas in July, up 18.5% from a year ago when importers cut spot purchases amid high global liquefied natural gas prices.
