Power coal price at Chinese ports continued to climb to hit a new high this year driven by increasing demand in the winter heating season and tight imports.

On November 4, China’s CCTD Bohai-Rim spot thermal coal reference price  stood at 615 yuan per tonne, rising about 10 per cent from a year earlier. On September 28, the price reference broke through 600 yuan mark for the first time this year.
