Economists believe China's recovery slowed in July due to the impacts of extreme weather conditions and Covid-19 resurgence in several regions. They expect weakness in major indicators such as industrial output, fixed-asset investment and retail sales.

A survey of economists at 15 major Chinese and foreign financial institutions shows that China's industrial output is expected to grow by 7.7 per cent in July from a year earlier, slowing by 0.6 percentage points from June, with median estimate at 7.8 per cent in a range between 6.3 per cent and . . .
