China’s electricity consumption reached 886.1 billion kWH in August, rising by 3.9% from a year earlier, according to the data released by the National Energy Administration, slowing from the 6.5% growth in July.
In breakdown, electricity consumption in the primary sector reached 14.2 billion kWh, rising by 8.6% from a year earlier, slowing from previous 14% growth; secondary sector 545.8 billion kWh, rising by 7.6%, accelerating from previous 5.7% growth; tertiary sector 171.1 billion kWh, rising by 6.6%, slowing from the previous 9.6% growth, according to the data.
Electricity consumption in the household sector reached 155 billion kWh in August, sliding 9.9% from a year earlier, according to the data, compared to the 5.1% growth in July.
In the first eight months of the year, China’s electricity consumption reached 6.08 trillion kWh, rising by 5% from a year earlier, compared to the 5.2% growth for the first seven months, showed the data.
