China’s exports of mechanical, electrical products rose 6.3% on year in H1, accounting for 58.2% of total – customs administration

China’s exports of mechanical and electrical products reached 6.66 trillion yuan in the first half of the year, an increase of 6.3% from a year earlier, accounting for 58.2% of the total value of exports, rising by 1.4 percentage points from a year ago, said the customs administration.

In breakdown, exports of electrical equipment, automobiles and auto parts/accessories, general machinery and equipment reached 636.06 billion yuan, 621.19 billion yuan and 2004.4 billion yuan, respectively, an increase of 27.7%, 58.5% and 12.2% from a year ago, it said. 

Exports of labor-intensive products reached 1.97 trillion yuan during the period, an increase of 0.04% from a year ago. Of that, exports of clothing and accessories, plastic products, shoes and boots reached 516.94 billion, 343.42 billion and 172.93 billion yuan, respectively, rising by 0.7%, 3.2% and 0.4%, it said.
