China’s postal industry recorded a revenue of 654.3 billion yuan in the first half of the year, rising 6.5% from a year earlier, according to data from the State Post Bureau. That represents a sharp slowdown from the 22.2% growth in the first half of 2021.

Express delivery companies’ business volume during the first six months reached 51.2 billion parcels, up 3.7% from a year ago, while their revenue reached 498.2 billion yuan, growing 2.9% on year, showed the data, compared to growth of 45.8% and 26.6% in the same period last year.

In particular, express delivery business volume declined on year in April, before slowly recovering in May and June, said the regulator.
