China’s Foreign Minister Qin Gang met with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong on March 2 during the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in New Delhi.

China and Australia should implement the important consensus reached by the two countries’ leaders at the Bali meeting, respect each other’s core interests and major concerns, cherish and protect the positive momentum of the positive development of bilateral relations, Qin said.

The two countries have resumed and restored dialogue and consultations on diplomatic, economic and trade, and should continue to promote dialogue and exchanges at all levels, he said, adding that both sides should correctly handle and properly resolve differences and address their respective legitimate concerns.

It’s hoped that Australia can provide a fair, just, and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in Australia, Qin said.
