China’s installed power capacity by end Jun rose 10.8% on year, power generation investment surged 53.8% in first half

China’s installed power generation capacity reached about 2.71 billion kW as of the end of Jun, rising by 10.8% from a year earlier, according to the National Energy Administration.

Of that, solar power capacity installations stood at about 470 million kW, rising by 39.8% from a year earlier and wind power installations stood at about 390 million kW, rising by 13.7% from a year ago, it said. 

Major power generators completed 331.9 billion yuan of investment to power generation projects in the first half of the year, surging 53.8% from a year earlier, said the NEA. 

Of that, investment in solar power generation reached 134.9 billion yuan, jumping 113.6% year over year, and investment in nuclear power generation reached 35.9 billion yuan, surging 56.1%, showed the data. 

China completed 205.4 billion yuan of investment in grid projects in the first half of year, rising by 7.8% from a year earlier, it said.
