Passenger vehicle sales in the world's largest car market continued to recover in April from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, supported by robust demand for new energy vehicle and luxury cars.

China sold 1.6 million passenger vehicles in April, an increase of 12.4 per cent from the same period last year when car sales were hampered by the pandemic and up 6.5 per cent from the level seen in the same period 2019, according to data released by the China Passenger Car Association on Tuesday.
