China’s economy grew 2.3% in 2020, Q4 GDP growth stronger than expected

China’s economy grew by 2.3 per cent in 2020, in a dramatic turnaround since the coronavirus pandemic ravaged the country in the early part of the year.

While the growth was the slowest since 1976 when the economy shrank by 1.6 per cent, it comes as other major economies struggle to contain the effects of the pandemic and China is expected to be the only major economy to post positive growth in 2020.
