China’s state planner held meeting with several companies on overseas debt, related policies

The foreign capital department of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China’s top economic planner, held a meeting on the overseas debt market and the related policies, according to a statement released by the NDRC.

The regulator conducted in-depth communications on Chinese companies’ overseas debt market, the implementation of the regulation on review, registration and management of Chinese companies’ medium-term and long-term foreign debt, and better supporting companies cross-border financing.

Representatives from Bank of China, China Merchants Group, Midea Group, Geely Holdings, New Hope, CICC, etc, attended the meeting.

The department will continue to study and improve relevant policies and measures, optimize classification and management, step up support for key companies to issue medium- and long-term overseas debt to serve the high-quality development of the real economy.
