The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China’s top economic planner, on Monday held its second meeting in eight days with private firms including internet giant Baidu, solar panel maker Longi Green Energy Technology, Jimin Kexin Pharmaceutical and Chunqiu International Travel Agency, vowing to improve the business environment.

On July 3, Zheng Shanjie, head of the NDRC, chaired a similar meeting with companies including heavy equipment manufacturer Sany Group, air-conditioner firm Aux Group, express delivery company YTO Express Group, clothing manufacturer Bosideng and water brand Nongfu Spring.

Private firms’ voices on economic policies and their suggestions are a key reference in the government’s study, formulation and implementation of macro policies, Zheng said on Monday.

In the next step, the NDRC will improve the mechanism to communicate with private companies in a sustained manner, address the companies’ concerns in a targeted approach and build a good environment for business development, he said.
