China’s steel product inventory rose this week, steel production hit eight-week low – consultancy

China’s total inventory of the five major steel products rises by 330,500 tonnes from the previous week to 16.44 million tonnes this week, including 12.07 million tonnes of social inventory, rising by 252,300 tonnes, and 4.37 million tonnes of inventory at steel mills, rising by 78,200 tonnes, according to consultancy Mysteel.

Inventory of steel rebar rose by 231,400 tonnes to 7.94 million tonnes; inventory of wire rod rose by 34,900 tonnes to 1.41 million tonnes; and inventory of hot-rolled plate rose by 37,100 tones to 3.7 million tonne, showed the data. 

China’s steel production this week fell by 49,700 tonnes to 9.27 million tonnes, marking the lowest in eight weeks, according to Mysteel.
