China’s tablet shipments fell 6.6% on year in Q2, Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi ranked top three – research

China’s tablet shipments reached about 6.77 million units in the second quarter of the year, falling by about 6.6% from a year earlier, of which, shipments in the consumer market fell by 7.2%, while that in the commercial market grew by 0.6%, according to data from market research firm IDC .

Apple Inc ranked first with a market share of 35.9%, rising by a 0.7 percentage point from a year earlier. Huawei Technologies followed with a market share of 20.5%, falling by 3.3 percentage point from a year ago. Xiaomi ranked third with a market share of 10.9%, rising by 4.2 percentage point from a year ago, showed the data.

Honor and Lenovo Group ranked fourth and fifth, with market shares of 7.2% and 6.5%, respectively. Vivo and OPPO took the sixth and seventh places, with market shares of 4.3% and 4.2%.
