China’s lithium carbonate futures hit new low, spot price fell for 25th straight day to hit three-month low

China’s most-traded lithium carbonate futures contract on the Guangzhou Futures Exchange, for January 2024 delivery, declined as much as 3.8% to hit 193,400 yuan per tonne, a new low since the launch on July 21, before closing 3.5% down at 194,500 yuan per tonne.

The price of battery-grade lithium carbonate fell by 5,500 yuan per tonne to 234,000 yuan per tonne on Tuesday, marking a new low in more than three months and sliding for the 25th consecutive day, according to data from Shanghai Metals Market. 

The price fell by 19,000 yuan per tonne in the recent five days and by 73,500 yuan per tonne in the recent 30 days. 

The price of battery-grade lithium hydroxide fell by 4,000 yuan per tonne to 220,000 yuan per tonne, marking a new low in more than three months and sliding for the 22nd straight day, showed the data7

The price fell by 17,000 yuan per tonne in the recent five days and by 73,000 yuan per tonne in the recent 30 days.
