Chinese A-shares open higher, shipping & chipmakers leading gains

Chinese A-shares open higher on Wednesday, with the Shanghai Composite Index up 0.37% at 3,291, the Shenzhen Component Index up 0.45% at 12,551, the tech-heavy Chinext Price Index up 0.49% at 2,764.

Shipping companies, semiconductor companies, oil/gas companies, drugmakers, non-ferrous metal companies and food makers leading the gains, while automakers, auto parts suppliers, coal miners, education companies and electric power companies are mostly lower.
