Chinese retailer MNSO’s annual profit surged 177.2%, quarterly revenue exceeded 3 bn yuan for first time

Chinese retailer MNSO Group’s revenue for the fiscal year ended June 2023 reached 11.473 billion yuan, rising by 13.8% from a year earlier. Net profit hiked 177.2% to 1.769 billion yuan, leaving its earnings per share at 1.42 yuan. 

Adjusted net profit surged by 1.54 times to 1.832 billion yuan, or 1.47 yuan per share. Dividend per share was $0.412 per ADS, or $0.103 per ordinary share.

As of 30th June, the number of “MINISO” stores had reached 5,791, increasing by 592 from a year ago and by 277 from the previous quarter. The number of “TOP TOY” stores stood at 118, up 21 year over year.

Revenue for the quarter ended June exceeded 3 billion yuan mark for the first time, reaching 3.25 billion yuan, surging 40.3% from a year earlier. Adjusted net profit exceeded 570 million yuan, surging 156%, and adjusted net profit margin reached 17.6%, an increase of 8 ppts from 9.6% a year ago.

Guofu Ye, Founder, Chairman and CEO of MNSO, said the company’s initial plan is to increase the total store number from 3,325 by the end of 2022 to around 5,000 by the end of 2027.
