Concerns over the sufficiency of China’s grain supply after three typhoons hit main corn-growing region in China over the past two weeks have pushed corn prices to the highest in five years.

Analysts say the natural disasters could lead to lower output in Heilongjiang and Jilin, two of China's top corn-growing provinces.

The expected drop in corn output comes at a time when the price of corn, a key ingredient in animal feed, has already surged across China. That was partly because many farmers shifted from corn to soybean crops last . . .
