The Hang Seng Index closed down 0.44% at 17,855, the Hang Seng China Enterprises index up 0.38% and the Hang Seng Tech Index 1.6% after slumping more than 3% earlier in the session.

Technology heavyweights rebounded, with Meituan gaining more than 4%, Tencent, JD.com and Xiaomi up more than 2%, Kuaishou, NetEase and Alibaba also slightly higher.
