Isolating China hopeless, to force China to innovate faster – ASML CEO

Peter Wennick, CEO of Dutch lithography producer ASML, said that isolating China would be hopeless and would force China to innovate faster, in an interview with Dutch media, after the Netherlands enforced chip export controls on China last week. 

There are 1.4 billion people in China, many of whom are smart enough to come up with solutions that the Western people hasn’t thought of and sanctions will only force Chinese to innovate faster, he said.
