China’s latest official data indicated that the world's second largest economy continued to recover in July, with industrial production and investment both picking up, but retail sales declined unexpectedly.

China's industrial output rose 4.8 per cent in July from a year earlier, the pace in line with that in June, but lower than economists’ expectations.

Output of the manufacturing sector increased 6 per cent, accelerating by 0.9 percentage points from the previous month, while the output of the mining sector fell 2.6 per cent and the output of utility . . .
