Since 2023, more than one hundred local governments have adjusted real estate policies more than 300 times, according to data compiled by China Index Academy, one of leading real estate research firms in the country.

Nearly 20 cities including Jinan, Changsha, Xiamen have relaxed home purchase curbs, and some top tier-two cities such as Hangzhou, capital of East China’s Zhejiang province have optimized home purchase restrictions several times, according to the data.

In addition, an increasing number of cities have relaxed policies on mortgage loans and home resales, it said.

More cities will likely gradually relax property curbs in the second half of the year to promote market stabilisation and recovery, especially in tier-2, tier-3 and tier-4 cities, it said.
