NIO delayed mass production of in-house batteries, slowed purchase of battery production equipment – report

Chinese electric vehicle maker NIO has pushed back the mass-production date for its in-house batteries and the company will push forward the project according to a new timeline, reported Chinese tech media 36Kr. 

The carmaker has also slowed the purchase of some equipment for its battery plant, the report said, citing multiple sources from the industry chain.

NIO said in response that the timing of the battery production has been delayed based on business needs, and the project is progressing according to the new production schedule.
