Shanghai’s export shipping index declined further last week

The Shanghai Export Containerized Freight Index reached 911.71 for last week falling by 3.9% from the previous week, according to the Shanghai Shipping Exchange. 

China’s export containerized freight market remained in correction, transportation demand lacks further growth momentum and Ocean route shipping rates declined further, dragging down the shipping index, it said.

The index reflects the ocean freight and the associated seaborne surcharges of export shipping routes from Shanghai.
