The expected waiting time for delivery of Tesla’s Model Y in China has been shortened to less than 1 month, according to information on Tesla’s China website.

The rear-wheel-drive Model Y now has an expected delivery waiting time of 1-4 weeks in China, down from previous 4-8 weeks, according to the information.

The last change in expected delivery times for Tesla vehicles was on August 18, when the company shortened the wait times for all available models in China. That may be because Giga Shanghai has seen a significant increase in capacity following a recent production line upgrade.

According to multiple media reports earlier this month, Tesla upgraded Giga Shanghai’s production line between late July and early August, and will expand its annual production capacity to around 1.1-1.2 million units after the upgrade is completed. On July 20, Tesla’s second-quarter earnings report showed that Giga Shanghai now has an annual capacity of more than 750,000 units, making it Tesla’s largest factory in the world.
