US imports of China’s solar panels are picking up after months of gridlock stemming from implementation of a new law banning goods made with forced labor, according to Reuters, citing two Chinese solar companies.

China’s Trina Solar said that only less than 1% of their solar panel products were detained and inspected by US customs over the past four months and they have exported more than 900 Megawatts worth of solar panels to the US.

Panels from their competitor, Jinkosolar Holdings is also reported to have cleared US custom detention.

Meanwhile, a White House official confirmed the thaw in shipments at an energy conference on Monday, attributing it to clearer rules around complying with the Uyghur Forced Labor Protection Act (UFLPA), according to the report.
