US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo to visit China next week

US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo will visit China from August 27 to 30 at the invitation of China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao, the Ministry of Commerce said on Tuesday.

Raimondo will travel to Beijing and Shanghai for a series of meetings, becoming the latest Biden official to visit China as the US seeks to stabilize the relationship between the countries.

She will meet with senior Chinese officials and American business leaders during the trip, the US Department of Commerce said.

Raimondo was looking forward to “constructive discussions on issues relating to the U.S.-China commercial relationship, challenges faced by US businesses, and areas for potential cooperation”, the department said.
