The US government will exert more pressure on its allies, expected to conduct a new round of negotiations with Netherlands this month on restricting China from attaining advanced chip technology, reported Bloomberg News citing people with the knowledge of the matter.
Senior US National Security Council official Tarun Chhabra and Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Alan Estevez will purportedly set off for Netherlands this month to lobby for chip block on China, the report said.
Such block includes requiring ASML to stop selling old models of lithography machines to China, though it’s expected that the new negotiations will not reach consensus, it said.
