WeChat mini-programs required to complete filing procedures before launch starting from Sept

Tencent’s WeChat said that starting from September, WeChat mini-programs that have yet to be launched will be required to complete the filing procedures prior to their launches. Existing mini-programs, on the other hand, shall complete the filing procedures by the end of March next year, it said. 

Failure to complete the procedures within the specified timeframe will result in removal from the platform, it said, adding that the filing system will be launched on 1 September.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has required operators of mobile internet applications (APPs) engaged in internet information services in mainland China to fulfill the filing procedures and those who fail to complete the filing procedures will not be allowed to engage in internet information services through mobile APPs.
