China's vegetable prices are surging after rainstorms hit several regions in North China and disrupted supply of agricultural products.

According to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affaires, the average price of 28 major vegetables hit 5.5 yuan per kg on October 20, rising by 1.9 per cent from one day earlier, and average prices of the six major fruits was 5.7 yuan per kg, down 0.3 . . .
